Bird Families of the World

Grey-sided Laughingthrush

Laughingthrushes are longer tailed and bigger-bodied than most of the other groups known informally as “babblers.” Their plumages range from dramatically contrasting black-and-white to some of the most spectacular combinations of browns, pinks, and greens in the bird world. Most spend their lives in mid to upper levels of moist forest vegetation, but the Turdoides babblers branch out into scrub and savanna habitats throughout Africa and the Middle East.

The family is Leiothrichidae

There are 146 species placed in 14 genera.

So far I have photographed 47 different species.

Of the following genera I did not photograph any specie so far:

See below the genera of which I photographed at least two specie. At the end, I have placed "Various genera".  Here you will find a collection of genera with only one species photographed. To make it easier you can find the genus name combined with the species name (visible when displaying the photograph)
